Ordinary walnut-tree /Juglans regia/
A tree with a height up to 30 or 35 m and a broad crown. Owing to
the cultivation of ordinary walnut-tree in various countries as
early as in the remote past, nowadays it is difficult to establish
its natural spread-out. It is accepted that in its wild condition this
species is encountered in Turkestan, the Himalayas, Burma and Western China.
In Bulgaria as a cultivated and outcast tree it is encountered throughout
the country up to about 1300 m above seal level. Fast growing species with
age limit of 350 to 400 years. Beautiful wood with exquisite streak, which
makes it valuable for furniture and parquet production as well as for the
production of natural veneer. The wood is 680 kg/m3 heavy.
